About Carrie

I am an instrumental music teacher in Colorado that has specialized in teaching beginning students in band and orchestra. I currently teach privately as well as in Jeffco public schools teaching 5th grade orchestra. I have over fifteen years of experience in teaching lessons as well as band and orchestra at the elementary and middle school levels. I received my Bachelor of Music Education degree from Colorado State University in 2009.

I started taking piano lessons when I was 5 and joined band playing flute in 5th grade. I enjoy learning new instruments and am proficient in all band and orchestra instruments. I studied flute and piccolo with Dr. Michelle LaQuatra at CSU, and have also studied privately on saxophone, baritone, and percussion. I have played violin in the Jeffco Community Orchestra since 2015, and have recently been able to join the Jeffco Community Band playing flute, trumpet, and horn.

Besides music, my other hobbies include biking, disc golf, skiing, and keeping aquariums. I love pets, especially dogs! I grew up in Lakewood, CO and currently live in Arvada with my husband.
